Using Trimble Mobile Manager
To start the Trimble Mobile Manager app, tap in the Apps screen.
Sign in using your Trimble username. Accept the Android permissions.
If you don't have a Trimble username, you can create one. Tap the Create a new TID link and follow the instructions.
The first time you run Trimble Mobile Manager, you must install the Trimble Catalyst Service app.
- Configure and attach the Trimble Catalyst DA1 antenna to your device. For setup options, see DA1 Quick Start Guide.
To connect the Trimble Mobile Manager app to the attached DA1 antenna and start the Catalyst service:
Tap and select Home and then tap the Connect to Catalyst slider.
The Trimble Catalyst service starts and attempts to connect to the antenna.
When the Trimble Catalyst Service pop-up appears, tap OK to grant access and proceed. Android requires you to allow the connection each time you reconnect to a USB accessory or device.
- The Subscription and On Demand tiles show the Catalyst subscriptions or On Demand accounts you have access to. To start a new On Demand session, tap START. To change the On Demand pool or subscription you are using, tapand select Catalyst. See To view your account and subscription details.
Once Trimble Catalyst starts, GNSS corrections are automatically applied using the Trimble Corrections Hub. GNSS status and the error estimate are shown in the Home screen:
Red: No position, or poor position quality.
Yellow: Moderate position quality.
Green: Excellent position quality.
For optimal operation, Trimble Catalyst requires a good clear view of the sky free of obstructions and reflected GPS signals (for example, reflected off buildings and walls). Where possible, avoid working near tall buildings and vegetation. Keep the antenna flat and pointing towards the sky when in use, and where possible elevate the antenna above your body.
Trimble Mobile Manager aims to make using the Catalyst service as simple as possible.
To obtain GNSS corrections from the Trimble Corrections Hub, tap and select Configuration. Make sure the Trimble Corrections Hub switch in the Source section is enabled:
When using Trimble Corrections Hub, there are no other settings. Trimble Mobile Manager automatically ensures that Catalyst uses the best available correction, and configures all the necessary input source settings for you.
To configure your own GNSS correction source, see Configuring GNSS corrections.
To change the units for coordinate height, tap and select Configuration. Tap Distance unit.
To change the reference frame for coordinates, see Configuring GNSS output.
To change your subscription details tapand select Catalyst.
If you have a current Catalyst subscription, the Subscription tile shows:
- Current subscription in use – the current subscription you have selected to use. If you only have one subscription, then this will be shown.
- Select override subscription – choose a subscription level for Trimble Catalyst.
If your assigned subscriptions allow different operating modes, you can switch between subscription levels using the Subscription Selector:
- Tap, then tap Catalyst.
- Tap Select override subscription. A list of available subscription types is shown. Select the subscription type that you want to switch to. A message will appear confirming the selection.
Subscription selection is only possible while online.
If you have access to the Catalyst On Demand service, the On Demand tile shows the number of hours available, and the name of the Catalyst On Demand pool you have access to. If you have access to more than one pool, tap the list to select a different pool.
To start using the service, tap START. One hour from the pool is assigned to you.
The expiry time and the time remaining are shown.
To extend the time available by another hour, tap EXTEND and then tap YES.
If you are using a third party app, you can extend the On Demand session by tapping EXTEND in the Android notification that warns when the session is about to end.
If you are signed in to more than one device, you can use an On Demand session on only one device at a time.
Signing out "checks in" your license so that it can be used by another device. To sign out of Trimble Mobile Manager, tap and then tap .
To switch your subscription license from one device to another you must check in the license on the first device by signing out, and then check out the license on the second device by signing in.
If your Trimble Catalyst subscription is checked out on a device that is no longer accessible, see To terminate a license.
