Mobile Mapping FAQ

Some information, which might be useful in mission planning:
- Actual online almanac: gnssplanning.com/#/settings
-
Actual sun activity: swpc.noaa.gov/
(ESTIMATED PLANETARY K-INDEX --- should be <4)

The Camera table contains the interior camera lens calibration parameters:
- CCDWidth: Width of the CCD (image) in pixels.
- CCDHeight: Height of the CCD (image) in pixels.
- K1: First radial lens distortion coefficient.
- K2: Second radial lens distortion coefficient.
- Xpp: Principal point (image centre) x coordinates in mm.
- Ypp: Principal point (image centre) y coordinates in mm.
- Psx: Width of every pixel in mm.
- Psy: Height of every pixel in mm.
The InstallParams table contains the exterior "boresight" calibration parameters:
- ORI2SUP_DX: Position of the camera's principal point with reference to the navigation system reference point on the X axis (horizontal, perpendicular to the driving direction, positive going right).
- ORI2SUP_DY: Position of the camera's principal point with reference to the navigation system reference point on the Y axis (horizontal, parallel to the driving direction, positive going forward).
- ORI2SUP_DZ: Position of the camera's principal point with reference to the navigation system reference point on the Z axis (vertical, perpendicular to the driving direction, positive going up).
- Heading: Camera orientation around the Z axis (0 if camera is looking forward, positive looking right).
- Roll: Camera orientation around the Y axis (0 if top of camera is perfectly vertical, positive rotating clockwise).
- Pitch: Camera orientation around the X axis (0 if camera is looking forward, positive looking up).

To be able to upload JPGs to Mapillary or some ESRI services, additional metadata is required in the EXIF of JPGs exported by TBC to TMX. To populate the EXIF with information contained in the reference.csv such as time, position, and orientation, follow these instructions.
