Error: Failed to initialize scanner

Problem

After clicking the Connect button to connect to the scanner in Trident Capture MX2, it fails to connect resulting in an error message:

Failed to initialize the scanner. This may happen when the scanner was not ready. Try to connect again.

The scanner may be spinning and you are not able to stop it since you cannot connect.

Solution

Turn off the MX2. Make sure Ethernet is connected to the laptop, and turn on the power box.

Problem Details

This may happen when you turn on the power box before the Ethernet is connected to the laptop. Connect to the scanner with SLM.
