MX50 laser timestamping Issue

Problem

Processing MX50 data in Trimble Business Center results in the error:

A failure has occured: [sdeError] Trajectory time stamps do not cover run Scan process parameter: Scan start and end time stamps not covered by trajectory.

This error occurs even though the trajectory is correctly processed.

Solution

This is due to a timestamp bug in TMI. Run the MX50 Laser Timestamp Sync Fix Tool created by engineering to fix the timestamps in the laser TMX file. To download the tool, go to the Land Mobile Tools page of Support Resources. To run the tool, call the exe and input the file path. For more details, read the readme.txt.

Problem Details

This issue happens with TMI 3.2.1 and 3.2.2. It is happening typically only for the first mission after system boot up. It looks like that the POS provides some wrong messages / PPS information at an early stage, after powering up. If you start a mission too fast, it could happen that the lasers get synced wrong. Existing MX50 customers need to pay attention that a valid GPS time is shown in TMI before they start a mission. Bug fix is in progress.
