WiFi connection to the MX7/TMI software is intermittent

Problem

Connection loss to TMI software, or WiFi connection to the MX7/TMI software is interrupted or intermittent.

Solution

You can reduce this negative effect by minimizing the distance between the MX7 WiFi dongle and the tablet, avoiding any obstructions that may weaken the signal strength. It is not recommended to have the power-box with the WiFi in the trunk or rear of the car, instead install it closer to the operator with the tablet/ computer, for example on the back seat or even on the dashboard if possible.

Problem Details

Losing the WiFi connection is likely to be caused by interference with other open WiFi access points (hotspots) in the area. This can occur especially in urban areas where there are many open WiFi hotspots. It is a system limitation and our engineers are aware of it.

An intermittent WiFi signal does not affect the data in any way. The mission recording won't stop. As soon as you can reconnect to the system and gain control back of the TMI software you can continue where it left off.

To be sure what is causing the instability of the WiFi connection, the system should be tested in an area with no other ambient WiFi signals and check if the connection is stable.
