Laser scanner suddenly stops working
Problem
The system stops working and shows the following messages:
Laser 50620 MSG_LAS_LASER_STATUS_ERROR
Laser 50710 MSG_LAS_RECORDING_STOPPED_ERROR
Solution
You should let the scanner cool down. Please, do not start the MX9 system, otherwise internal parts of the laser scanner may be damaged.
In addition, you can check if both fans on the scanner are spinning when it is hot weather. If not, please check if the cable of the fans is properly connected to the back side of the scanner.
Problem Details
One of the reasons for such behavior may be too high internal temperature of the laser scanner Riegl VUX-1HA.
To confirm the temperature issue, you will find in the mission log file a message similar to:
ERROR;SensorModule:Laser_2;VQ command on action: updateLaserState result: error pending( oStandard;t06:41:41;c1;n2596;s2;mERROR:RECEIVER_TEMPERATURE_IS_OUT_OF_RANGE;);[.CallSite.Target];[16]
This means that the laser inside temperature has reached about 70 degrees, and thhe work of the scanner will be interrupted in order to prevent damage to the internal parts of the scanner.
