Laser data is "wavy" with some mismatch/noise between left and right

Problem

Looking at the point cloud data, one can see differences between left and right scanners in a “wavy” manner, meaning the right scanner is on top of left at some locations and the other way around at different locations.

Solution

Check if base station correction data is given with 1-second frequency conditions.

Problem Details

If base station correction data is given at a less frequent interval, for example every 15 seconds or longer, it could cause this phenomena especially in tough GNSS conditions.

Waves means that at one time the left laser is higher and then the right laser, and vice versa. Due to the "butterfly" installation of the laser scanners, both scanners look to the front and to the back side, but at different times. If the trajectory is very unstable and it is drifting up and down, then the difference between the lasers changes as well.
