License cannot be activated

Problem

When trying to activate the license an error message similar to the following occurs:

License is revoked.
Validation failed: Orbit License Service could not be reached.

Solution

Possible solutions:

  • Verify outbound connectivity to the Orbit License Service https://activation.orbitgt.com/service on port 443, an SSL exclusion might be required in secured environments.
  • Enable connectivity through the firewall or disable possible network restrictions. Internet access must be granted.
  • Configure the proxy settings. See https://kb.orbitgt.com/234/desktop/workspace/configurations.
  • If using version 22.7 and the proxy has been configured correctly, install the same software (for example, the Trimble MX Import & Upload Tool), but make sure it is version 23.4. Copy \program\bin\Trimble.ini and \program\jre\bin\javaw.exe into the same locations as the 22.7 version. A bug in 22.7 prevents being able to properly connect to a proxy.
  • Disable the antivirus software or create an exception for Trimble.exe.
  • Validate customer information is correctly filled out on the license server.

Problem Details

Failing to activate a license could be caused by different factors:

  • No access to the internet.
  • No outbound connectivity to Orbit License Service.
  • Antivirus software is blocking the activation.
  • Wrong customer information stored in the license server.
