TMX takes a long time to start
Problem
Trimble MX software takes a long time to start or is stuck at the splash/ login screen.
Solution
To solve the problem, check the following:

Wait until the software opens, then check in the log file for the resources that are not available and update or remove them accordingly.

Run the Trimble MX console (Console.bat) to check if a connection to the online symbology library is allowed. If there are network restrictions, the process will stop while connecting to "https://3dmapping.cloud/system/symbols/...png". If possible, allow access to that url. Alternatively, delete the StandardSymbols.osl file from the [../program/symbols] folder.

It is also possible that the machine is not able to open the MapGL Renderer and the software is unable to open. Edit the following file and parameter and try again: ..\Installation Folder\program\config\trimble.ini app.element.orbitgis_mapGL.visible false

Another possible cause is if the Trimble EOS Service is run by a user which is not on the same domain as the user trying to open the client application. To validate the user domain, open the System Information, and check the User Name in the System Summary panel.
To run the EOS console under the same domain:
- Go to Windows settings > Firewall and Network Protection > Allow an app through firewall.
- Click Change settings > Allow another app.
- Browse to the server folder >program>bin64>prunsrv.exe.
- Click Add, and ensure the domain is selected.
Problem Details
This happens if one or more of the previously connected resources are not accessible. For example, a connection to a WMS or WFS that is not available anymore, a resource is removed from the disk but not from TMX, or a connected database that holds themes is not accessible for any reason.
In Trimble MX v21.1 there is an .osl file in the installation folder, which contains an online symbology library. If there are network restrictions, the software cannot connect to the library URL.
Every time the program starts, it tries to fetch these resources and takes a long time before it opens.
