2024.00

Version 2024.00 of the Trimble® Perspective software is available from 8 January, 2024. Alternatively, you can download these release notes as a PDF file.

These Release Notes describe the new features and changes available in this release of the Trimble Perspective software.

New features and enhancements

Limit box

A 3D Limit box has been added to replace the Slice Tool. The bounds of the limit box can be set using grab handles and rotated about the Z-axis. The slice tool slider bar can still be used to shift the limit box along the Z-axis.

Limit box extraction

All points displayed within the limit box can be exported as an LAS file. Limit box extraction is done from the limit box tool menu.

Refine registration sets

Each registration set can be refined individually and generates a report. This can be completed from the station menu with Reg. Sets displayed.

Slope measurement

Distance measurement provides the slope percentage between the 2 selected points.

Registration Report (Scan-based) and Refine Registration using TZF Scans

The accuracy of the overlap computation between TZF scans has been improved. As a result, when doing Registration Report (Scan-based) or Refine Registration using Scans, the links between stations are now more reliable.

Completely separate scans now show no or very low overlap - e.g., indoor scans acquired in separate rooms with no common parts.

Microsoft Windows 11 support

Trimble Perspective is now fully supported on the latest Microsoft Windows® operating system.

The released version of Trimble Perspective is 2024.00.2325. The latest firmware versions for the X-series laser scanners are as follows: Trimble X7 (2.5.100), Trimble X9 (1.0.3.0384) and Trimble X12 (10.0.1.11608).

Resolved issues

  • PTX Export: each station is exported as an individual file.

  • Export: export files are checked for name duplication and a confirmation message is prompted to overwrite exported data.

  • Georeferencing: improved georeference auto matching algorithm.

  • Georeferencing: corrected selection issues when editing annotations for georeferencing.

  • LAS Export: warning message added for failed export.

  • Magnifier: hide station markers, annotations, and measurements that are outside the magnifier bounds.

  • Magnifier: view rotates around the center of the viewable point cloud.

  • Measure Tool: corrected inconsistent measurement options when switching from a 3D view to a 2D view.

  • Measurement: dragging point measurement off cloud returns point to last valid position.

  • Panorama Export: corrected panorama position and orientation values in CSV export.

  • Station View Performance: improved database communication when multiple requests are made while in the station view mode.

  • Crash Report: report now persists until the user closes the report.

  • Reg. Sets: Station menu show/hide icon showed the incorrect setting for Reg. Sets.

  • Registration Report: changed the order of Stations and Reg. Sets in the report.

  • Storage Space: resolved software freeze issue caused by full disk space warning.
