Configure real-time corrections
To view the Configuration screen, tap .
By default the GNSS correction source is set to Auto. The Auto setting will make use of the best available correction source supported by your configured receiver.
To use an NTRIP correction service, you can change the GNSS correction source setting to Custom local and configure your own correction settings.
The Auto setting will make use of the best available correction source supported by your configured receiver.
If the selected Position Source is:
-
DA1 or DA2, the Auto correction source is the Trimble Corrections Hub.
Every subscription to Trimble Catalyst includes access to Trimble RTX and VRS Now™ correction services through a bundled service called the Trimble Corrections Hub. Trimble Mobile Manager automatically ensures that Trimble Catalyst uses the best available correction source, and configures all the necessary input source settings for you.
-
Any other supported receiver, the Auto correction source is RTX (if a subscription to Trimble RTX has been configured), otherwise SBAS will be used where available.
To view worldwide coverage maps for Trimble VRS Now and Trimble RTX services, go to positioningservices.trimble.com/en/coverage-maps.
SBAS is always enabled, and will be used if RTK/RTX corrections are not available.
Custom local corrections require an internet connection and may require a separate account with a local corrections service provider.
- In Trimble Mobile Manager, tap and select Configuration.
- Tap the GNSS correction source field and select Custom local.
- Select your corrections service Protocol (either NTRIP or Direct).
-
Enter the URL and Port number for the server you obtain corrections from.
Trimble Mobile Manager uses the URL and port number you have entered to connect to the server and obtain a mount point table.
- When the mount point list is available, select the base station to use from the list.
-
Select the GNSS source reference frame used by your correction source. Trimble Mobile Manager allows you to choose from a list of known source reference frames. If you do not know the correct reference frame, contact your correction service provider. If you are still unsure, select Auto, and Trimble Mobile Manager chooses the best available reference frame based on your current geographic location.
If you are near a county, state or country boundary, selecting the correct reference frame for your correction source will reduce the chance of Trimble Mobile Manager selecting the incorrect reference frame.
- Trimble Mobile Manager will use the default reference epoch if you have specified a custom GNSS source reference frame for your local correction source. For most users, the default value will be correct for your region. If you are working in a tectonically active region, you may wish to specify a custom epoch. To set a custom reference frame epoch, tap the Customize epoch switch to enable it and then enter the date of the epoch in the Epoch field using the format YYYY.DD, where DD is a decimal representation of the time of year between 00 and 99. The Customize epoch switch is not available when Auto is selected in the GNSS source reference frame field.
- If required, set your corrections service account username and password.
When using a DA1 or DA2, any changes you have made in the Configuration screen in Trimble Mobile Manager are not applied if you are using a Catalyst Free subscription.
