Using the navigation options

You can navigate to an existing feature by:

  • selecting it on the Map

  • selecting its Form

Alternatively, you can enter coordinates (latitude and longitude, or Northing and Easting) to navigate to.

Navigate to an existing feature

  1. On the Home screen, do one of the following:

    • tap Forms. Select the form you want to navigate to, then tap Navigate to.

    • tap Map. Then do either of the following:

      1. Tap the feature on the map that you want to navigate to, then tap Navigate to. Once selected, the feature's form appears below the map.

      2. Tapthen tap Navigate. The Navigation panel opens. The only Start location currently is Current location. By default, the End location is Existing point. Tap the feature on the map that you want to navigate to, then tap Navigate.

  2. Start to walk toward the target as directed—an arrow and distance to the feature are shown on the map.

    As you get close to the target feature, the view switches to High Rate Positioning to give you a higher resolution view of your target's position.

  3. When you are at the selected feature, tap Edit Form below the map, or tap Exit Navigation, then tap to open and edit the form for the selected feature.

  4. Tap the "Feature" bar / Map(top of the form), then tap(Point feature), (Line feature), or (Area feature) to log the position(s).

  5. Tap to save the position(s).

  6. Update any form fields as required, then tap .

To collect new data at any time while navigating to an existing feature, tap and select the required template. Complete the form as required.

Navigate to coordinates

From the Map, you can enter coordinates to navigate to.

  1. On the Home screen, tap Map.

  2. Tapthen tap Navigate. The Navigation panel opens. The only Start location currently is Current location. By default, the End location is Existing point; tap this and select New coordinate.

  3. Select the Input Coordinate System you want to use (Global, Local, or Projected).

  4. If you are using a Global or Local coordinate system, enter the Latitude and Longitude coordinates . For Projected, enter the Northing and Easting values.

  5. Click Navigate.

To collect new data at any time while navigating to specified coordinates, tap and select the required template. Complete the form as required.
