Notes on using the RoadXML Stakeout report style sheet ====================================================== The RoadXML Stakeout report style sheet is designed to be used only with the ASCII File Generator program. It creates a report of all the design positions on each cross-section along the road, based on the horizontal alignment, vertical profile, superelevation and widening parameters and template definitions and assignments. You can use this report to validate the road design prior staking out. If you do not already have the ASCII File Generator program installed on your computer, you can install it from the Trimble Survey Controller CD (under the 'Additional Utilities' installation option). After installation the ASCII File Generator program is available from the Start|Programs|Trimble Data Transfer menu group. The ASCII File Generator installation will place a number of style sheet files in the \Trimble Survey Controller\Custom ASCII Files folder and you can add the downloaded 'RoadXML Stakeout report.xsl' file to the folder. Carry out the following steps to create a RoadXML Stakeout report: 1. Copy the RoadXML (rxl) file to be converted onto your computer from the Trimble Survey Controller using Microsoft ActiveSync. 2. Start the ASCII File Generator program and select the copied rxl file using the Browse... button associated with the 'Source JobXML or Job file' field. Note that if you are using a version of the ASCII File Generator program prior to that released with the v12.00 Survey Controller or later, you will need to specify *.rxl in the File Name field in the presented File Open dialog, since the program defaults to only looking for *.jxl and *.job files. 3. Select the 'RoadXML Stakeout report' option in the 'Output format' field. 4. Click OK and a report of the alignment and offset points will be created (and presented on screen if the 'View file after generating' option was checked).
