Notes on using the LandXML to TunnelXML file style sheet ====================================================== The LandXML to TunnelXML file style sheet is designed to be used only with the ASCII File Generator program. The style sheet will let you convert a LandXML file containing horizontal alignment, vertical profile and tunnel profile data (recorded as CrossSectSurf elements) to a TunnelXML containing the same design data. If you do not already have the ASCII File Generator program installed on your computer, you can install it from the following URL: http://www.trimble.com/tsc_ts.asp?Nav=Collection-59283 After installation the ASCII File Generator program is available from the Start|Programs|Trimble Office|Utilities menu group. The ASCII File Generator installation will place a number of style sheet files in the \Trimble Survey Controller\Custom ASCII Files folder and you can add the downloaded 'SierraSoft LandXML To TunnelXML.xsl' file to the folder. Carry out the following steps to extract the tunnel definition from a LandXML file and write it out to a TunnelXML file: 1. Start the ASCII File Generator program and select the appropriate LandXML file using the Browse... button associated with the 'Source JobXML or Job file' field. In the Open File dialog presented select 'XML files' from the drop down list in the 'Files of type' field to assist in locating the LandXML file. 2. Select 'SierraSoft LandXML To TunnelXML' in the 'Output format' field. 3. Click OK to start the conversion operation. 4. If there is more than 1 alignment defined in the LandXML file, a pop-up dialog will be presented asking you to select the alignment to be exported. Choose the alignment you want exported to the TunnelXML file from the drop down list of available alignments. 5. If there is more than 1 tunnel CrossSectSurf defined in the LandXML file for the selected alignment, a pop-up dialog will be presented asking you to select the profile to be exported. Choose the profile you want exported to the TunnelXML file from the drop down list of available profiles. After these steps the TunnelXML file will be written and you are provided with a File Save dialog to let you choose where the file should be saved.
