To measure continuous topo points
Use the Continuous topo measurement method to measure points continuously, for example a line of points at a fixed interval.
- Tap
and select Measure / Continuous topo. -
Enter the Start point name. The point name increments automatically.
- Enter a value in the Target height field.
- Select the method using the steps below
To measure continuous topo points without stopping

Select the Method.
A point is stored when one of these predefined events occurs:
- the time interval has elapsed (Fixed time method)
- the distance has been exceeded (Fixed distance method)
- the time interval has elapsed and/or the distance has been exceeded (Time and distance or Time or distance method)
For a postprocessed survey, you must use the Fixed time continuous method. By default the time interval is set to the same value as the logging interval configured in the Rover options screen of the postprocessed survey style.
- Enter a value in the Distance field and/or the Time interval field, depending on which method you are using.
- Tap Start. Data starts recording.

Move along the feature to be surveyed.
To store a position before the predefined conditions have been met, tap Store.
- To stop measuring continuous points, tap End.
To measure continuous topo points using the stop and go method

In the Method field, select Stop and go.
A point is stored when

In the Stop time field, enter the period of time the target must be stationary before the instrument starts to measure the point.
The target is deemed to be stationary when its velocity is less than 5 cm/sec.
- Enter a value in the Distance field for the minimum distance between points.
- Tap Start. Data starts recording.

Move along the feature to be surveyed. A point is stored when the stop time and distance settings have been met.
To store a position before the predefined conditions have been met, tap Store.
- To stop measuring continuous points, tap End.
- If you are using a GNSS receiver with a built-in tilt sensor and Tilt warnings are enabled, you cannot measure a point until the receiver is within the defined tilt tolerance.
- If you are using a Trimble total station continuous topo uses only synchronous angles and distances. If the instrument:
- Has a tracklight that has been enabled, the tracklight is disabled for 2 seconds when the measured point has been stored.
- Is a FOCUS 30/35 instrument with laser blinking enabled, laser blinking is temporarily disabled when using Continuous topo.
