To link an image to an attribute
If a point has a file name attribute, you can use the file name attribute to link an image to the attribute.
You should not rename a file after attaching it to an observation. Files renamed after attaching will not be downloaded with the job.
- In the measure or stakeout screen, enter the feature code. The feature code must have a file name attribute.
If the code has multiple file name attributes, or if the point has multiple codes, the image will be linked to the first file name attribute that appears when you view the attribute screen.
- To link the image to a specific file name attribute, tap Attrib and select the required file name field.

Measure the point.
If the View before storage check box is enabled in the Measure point options screen, then the attribute form automatically appears when you store the point.

To view the attributes screen, tap Attrib.

To capture an image using the camera in the:
- controller, tap in the attribute form or press the appropriate key on the controller keypad.
- controller, tap in the attribute form or tap in the video screen.
The name of the image appears in the file name field.

To review the image; tap next to the file name field and then select Review.
In a conventional survey, if you selected the Attrib softkey before measuring and storing the point and you have elected to annotate the image with the grid and/or WGS coordinates, the coordinates are shown as null because the point has not yet been measured.
- Tap Store.
- In the measure or stakeout screen, enter the feature code. The feature code must have a file name attribute.
- To view the attributes screen, tap Attrib.
- In the File name attribute field, tap and select the file to link to the attribute.

To preview a JPG file, tap and hold the file and then select Preview. Tap Select to select the current file, or tap Prev or Next to preview another file.
The name of the image appears in the file name field.
- To review the image; tap next to the file name field and then select Review.
- Tap Store.
