Auxiliary GPS settings

Auxiliary GPS devices include GPS devices integrated into tablets or third-party GPS devices connected via Bluetooth. Auxiliary GPS can be used during a conventional survey for GPS search, navigating to a point, and to display the position in the map.

Select an auxiliary GPS receiver. Choose from:

  • None
  • Internal GPS – for supported controllers
  • Custom – set the controller port as appropriate

To make sure you are getting positions from the internal GPS, tap and select Instrument / Position. Tap Options and set the Coordinate view to WGS84.

When using Bluetooth wireless technology to connect the controller to a Custom auxiliary GNSS receiver, tap and select Settings / Connections / Bluetooth and then select the receiver in the Connect to auxiliary GPS field. For more information, see Bluetooth connections.
