To copy job files
To copy jobs or to copy items between jobs, tap and select Job, and then tap Copy. The Copy screen appears.
In portrait mode, swipe right to left along the row of softkeys to view the Copy softkey.
You can copy jobs into or out of the project folder or from one folder to another folder inside the project folder. All files associated with the job, including files that were collected during the survey (for example, image and scan files) are copied at the same time.
The Copy function is especially useful when copying job files to a USB drive so that you can transfer jobs from one controller to another.
You can copy jobs from version 2017.00 and later when running on a Windows device
To avoid data synchronization issues, do not copy jobs downloaded from Trimble Connect to a different folder.
When copying job files, you can choose to copy the following types of additional files:
- Coordinate system files
- Linked files
- Media files
- Feature library files
- Road or tunnel files
- Exported files
To include design definition files used for road or alignment staking and for tunnel scans, setout, or point in tunnel measurements when copying job files, select the Copy road files, Copy tunnel files or Copy exported files options.
Broadcast RTCM transformation (RTD) files associated with the job are not copied with the job. Users of RTD files should ensure the grid file on the controller that the data is being copied to contains grid data that covers the area of the copied job.
When copying items between jobs, you can select from:
- Calibration
- All control points
- Calibration and control
- Local transformations
- Points
- RTX‑RTK offset
Use these steps to copy jobs from one folder to another, for example on a USB drive.
- In the Copy screen, select Copy job files to.
- Browse to and select the Job to copy.

Tap to select the Destination folder for the copied job.
You can select a folder on any available drive, such as a network drive or a USB drive.
If the controller is an Android device, you may be prompted to give Trimble Access read and write permissions for the USB drive. When you tap Yes, the Android folder selection screen appears. Tap in that screen, browse to the USB drive and tap [SELECT]. The USB drive now appears in the Trimble Access Select folder screen. If the USB drive detected message does not appear, or if you have dismissed the message, tap the Select USB drive softkey once the USB device is connected.
- Select the folder for the copied job from the Select folder screen. Tap Accept.
- To create a JobXML file, enable the Create JobXML file switch.
- To copy project files associated with the job, select the appropriate check box(es).
- Tap Accept.
Use these steps to copy a job from a folder into the current folder.
- In the Copy screen, select Copy job files from.

If the USB permissions dialog does not appear, or if you have dismissed the dialog, tap the Select USB drive softkey once the USB device is connected.
- Select the job to copy. Tap Accept.
- To include all files starting with the same job name in the <project>\Export folder, select the Include exported files check box.
- To copy project files associated with the job, select the appropriate check box(es).
- Tap Accept.
You can only copy information between jobs that are in the current project folder.
- In the Copy screen, select Copy between jobs.
- Tap to select the Job to copy.
- Select the job that the data will be copied to.

Select the type of data to be copied and select whether duplicate points should be copied. Duplicate points in the job you are copying to will be overwritten.
- When copying points between jobs, make sure that the points you are copying use the same coordinate system as the job that the files are being brought into.
- When copying local transformations between jobs, all transformations are copied, and the copied transformations are not editable. To modify or update a copied transformation, update the original transformation and then copy it again.
- Tap Accept.
