Selecting items in the map
You can select items such as points, lines, arcs or polylines from all supported map file types, including DXF, IFC, RXL, and DTM files, as well as scan points in point clouds or scan files. You cannot select points in background images displayed in the map.
To select an from a map file, the map file or feature layer within the file must be made selectable. See To add data to the map.
-
Tap the required items in the map. If there are several items close together, a list of items appears. Select the items as required and then tap OK to return to the map.
When selecting a line, arc, or polyline to stakeout, tap near the end of the line, arc, or polyline that you want to designate as the start. Arrows are then drawn on the item to indicate the direction. If the direction is not correct, tap the item to deselect it and then tap it at the correct end to reselect the direction required.
Offset directions are not swapped when the line direction is reversed. The direction of RXL alignments and Trimble road RXL files is defined when they are created, and cannot be changed.
-
Drag a box around the items you want to select.
When multiple items are selected in this way they are typically sorted in the order in which they are stored in the database.
- If the order of the items in the selection is important, you should select them one by one.
- Stakeout and review allow a maximum of 20 point cloud points to be selected at a time. Selecting points from point clouds using the drag and select method cannot be used for stakeout or review, as this method typically selects more than 20 points. To select point cloud points for stakeout or review, tap them individually in the map to select them.
- Tap next to an item name field to select the item from the list of selected map items. Only items of that type are shown.
- For any field where you need to select a point, you can tap the point in the map to select it. For some Cogo and Stakeout functions, when you select items from the map and then select the function, the selected items are automatically entered into the appropriate fields.
- Tap the selected item to deselect it. If there is more than one item within the highlighted area, a list of items within this area appears. Deselect the items as required. Tap OK to return to the map.
- Tap and hold in the map and select List selection. A list of the selected items appears. Deselect the items as required.
- To clear the selection, double-tap an empty part of the map. Alternatively, tap and hold in the map and select Clear selection.
Once you have selected items in the map, tap Review to review details of the selected items or tap Stakeout to stake them out. You can also double-tap an item in the map to stake it out.
If more than one item is selected, the items are added to the Stake out items list, from where you can select them for stakeout.
Alternatively, tap and hold in the map and select the required function. See Map tap and hold options.
If there are no items selected, tap Measure to measure the current position.
