To configure a rover dial‑in data link

- Select Rover data link.
- Set the Type field to Dial‑in.
-
From the GNSS contact field, tap the field menu (right arrow) button to access the GNSS contacts form. Select a GNSS contact from the list or create a new contact.
You can also enter the GNSS contact name for a contact that you have already configured.
The GNSS Contact list is filtered according to the contact type.
-
To display the GNSS contact that is configured in the survey style, or change the GNSS contact when you start the survey, select the Prompt for GNSS contact check box.
-
The remaining steps depend on the modem you are using to dial the modem at the base.
- Disable Route through controller.
- Select Receiver internal modem in the Receiver port field.
- Tap Accept.
- Select Route through controller.
- Select Controller internal modem in the Controller port field.
- Tap Accept.
If incoming base data will be routed through the controller, enabling the controller to connect to the Internet for other functions such as downloading projects and jobs or email while connected to the Internet data link during an RTK survey:
- Select Route through controller.
- In the Controller port field, select the appropriate Bluetooth or serial port, depending on the method you use to connect the device to the controller.
- If required, edit the Baud rate and Parity settings.
- Tap Accept.
If incoming base data will not be routed through the controller, enabling the receiver but not the controller to connect to the Internet:
- Disable Route through controller.
- Select the Receiver port to use for the connection.
- If required, edit the Baud rate and Parity settings.
- Tap Accept.
When using the modem in another device, you must use a serial cable to connect the receiver to the other device. Because most receivers have only one serial port, the connection from the receiver to the controller must be a Bluetooth connection. You cannot use Bluetooth to connect the receiver to the other device because the Trimble Access will not know the connection exists. If you are using a receiver with more than one serial port, such as the R8 receiver, the connection between the controller and the receiver can also be a serial cable.
