To start an RTK Internet survey
- Set up and connect the GNSS receiver.
- If you are receiving corrections from a single base station, start the base receiver.
- In Trimble Access, make sure the required job is open.
-
To start the survey, tap and select Measure or Stakeout. If there is more than one survey style configured, select a survey style from the list. Select the software function to use, for example Measure points.
When you select a survey style for the first time, the software prompts you to customize the style for your specific hardware.
If you are using the modem in the controller to connect to the Internet and it is:
- already connected, the controller uses the existing Internet connection for the base data.
- not yet connected, the controller opens an Internet connection using the connection specified in the survey style.
-
If the Prompt for GNSS contact check box is selected in your survey style, you are prompted to select the GNSS contact to use.
-
If Connect directly to Mountpoint or the NTRIP Mountpoint name was not configured in the GNSS contact, or the defined mountpoint cannot be accessed, you are prompted to select the mountpoint you want to receive corrections from.
The message Establishing network connection appears. The software connects to the mountpoint and then begins the survey. Once the corrections data link is established, the network connection icon appears on the status bar.
If you are using the internal modem of an SP80 receiver and the first connection attempt fails, you may need to wait up to a minute for the modem to power up and initialize before you attempt the connection again.
If base corrections are being received and there are sufficient satellites, the survey initializes automatically using the on the fly initialization method. If required, initialize on a known point.
-
If you are using a receiver with IMU tilt compensation, align the IMU.
- Measure or stake out points.
