To show the cut/fill to a DTM during stakeout
When staking out a point, line, arc, polyline, or alignment it can be useful to display the cut/fill to a digital terrain model (DTM), where the horizontal navigation is relative to the item you are staking but the displayed cut/fill delta value is from your current position to the DTM.
- Tap and select Stakeout / [feature type].
- Select the point, line, arc, polyline, or alignment to stake.
- In the Stakeout screen, tap Options.
- In the Display group box, select the DTM.
-
From the Display cut/fill to field, select one of these options:
- Design
- Design + DTM (only available when staking an alignment)
- DTM
When staking a polyline or an alignment with a horizontal construction offset applied, the cut/fill value reported is to the DTM at the position selected for stakeout and not to the DTM at your current position.
When staking an alignment and viewing the cross section, the DTM is displayed at your current position as a green line. A circle on the DTM indicates your position projected vertically to the surface.
-
If required, in the Offset to DTM field, specify an offset to the DTM. Tap and select whether the offset is to be applied vertical or perpendicular to the DTM. The V.Dist DTM value is to the offset position.
