Keypad shortcuts
You can assign your own custom shortcuts to function keys on the controller. See Favorite screens and functions.
If your controller has an alphanumeric keypad, or if you have connected an external keyboard, you can access frequently used functions by pressing the appropriate key combination.

Menu key (short press) The menu appears with the Favorites screen open. Use the right or down arrow keys to select a Favorite item. To close Favorites press the left arrow key and then use the up or down arrow keys to select a different menu item. |

Display Instrument functions or GNSS functions screen |
Menu key (long press) The Instrument functions screen appears if the software is connected to a conventional instrument. The GNSS functions screen appears if the software is connected to a GNSS receiver or is not connected to a receiver or instrument. |

Navigate between open screens in the software, or between tabs in a form. |
Ctrl + Tab to move between open screens (excluding the map) in one direction, or Ctrl + Shift + Tab to move open screens in reverse order. Open screens are listed in the Return to list in the Favorites screen. In a form that has tabs, press Ctrl + Tab to move through the tabs. |
Switch between plan and cross section view |
Tap or , or press the Tab key. The plan and cross section views are available when staking an alignment or when surveying or reviewing a road or tunnel using the Roads or Tunnels app. |

Move between fields or items in a list |
Up arrow, down arrow, Tab, Back Tab In the Measure codes form or the Edit Measure codes screen, press Tab to move between the different controls in the form. When the focus is on the code buttons, use the arrow keys to move to the next code button. |

Press the configured function key on the controller when viewing any screen in the software. Alternatively, tap and press the numeric key on the controller keyboard corresponding to the button for the favorite (1–9, 0, - or .) to enable/disable the function or open the appropriate screen. |
Select an item in the Instrument functions screen |
Press the numeric key on the controller keyboard corresponding to the button for the favorite (1–9, 0, - or .) to enable/disable the function or open the appropriate screen. If you have configured a function key on the controller as a shortcut to an instrument function, you can press the configured function key when viewing any screen in the software. |
Select an item in the GNSS functions screen |
Press the numeric key on the controller keyboard corresponding to the button for the favorite (1–9, 0, - or .) to enable/disable the function or open the appropriate screen. If you have configured a function key on the controller as a shortcut to a GNSS function, you can press the configured function key when viewing any screen in the software. |

Initiate a measurement from the Measure codes screen |
Press the numeric key on the controller keyboard corresponding to the button for the code. When the buttons are set to a 3 x 3 layout, keys 7, 8, 9, activate the top row of buttons, keys 4, 5, 6 activate the middle row of buttons, keys 1, 2, 3 activate the bottom row of buttons. When the buttons are set to a 4 x 3 layout, keys 0, - and . activate the bottom row of buttons. You cannot use alphanumeric key shortcuts if the Multi-code button is enabled. |
Select a group of codes in the Measure codes screen |
Press A to Z to move to group pages 1 to 26. Key A opens group 1, Key B opens group 2... and key Z opens group 26. You cannot use alphanumeric key shortcuts if the Multi-code button is enabled. |
Compute a distance between two points |
Enter the point names in the distance field, separated by a hyphen. For example, to compute the distance between points 2 and 3, enter "2‑3". This method works with most alphanumeric point names, but it does not support point names that already contain a hyphen. |
Compute an azimuth from two points |
Enter the point names in the Azimuth field, separated by a hyphen. For example, to compute the azimuth from point 2 to point 3, enter "2‑3". This method works with most alphanumeric point names, but it does not support point names that already contain a hyphen. |

Save a screen capture of the current screen |
On a Windows device:
On an Android device: Press Power + Volume Down to save the image as a file in the Pictures\Screenshots folder. Screen captures saved to the Pictures\Screenshots are not saved to the job. To create a screen capture of the current map view and save it to the job, tap . |
