Receiver Wi-Fi settings

To configure the Wi‑Fi settings in a receiver that is Wi‑Fi enabled:

  1. Connect to the receiver but do not start a survey.

  2. Tap and select Instrument / Receiver settings and tap Wi‑Fi. The Receiver Wi-Fi configuration screen appears.

If the Wi-Fi softkey is not shown, make sure you have not started a survey.

  3. Select the required tab:
    • Select the Access point tab and select the Enabled check box to enable the receiver as an access point so that many clients can connect to it.

Access point mode also enables you to use the receiver as a mobile hotspot.

    • Select the Client tab and select the Enabled check box to enable the receiver to connect to an existing network.

Client mode enables you to connect to the internet and receive GNSS base data corrections during an RTK internet survey. For more information, see To configure a base internet data link.

Some receiver models allow you to have both Access Point and Client mode enabled, or only one mode on, or both modes off. For receivers that support only one mode at a time, enabling one mode in the Receiver Wi-Fi configuration screen automatically disables the other mode. Using receiver Wi-Fi will shorten the run time of the receiver battery.

  4. Configure the settings as required.

  5. If prompted, restart the receiver to apply the new settings. Some receiver models do not require a restart.
