Installing existing data during upgrade

When installing or upgrading Trimble Access on a Windows controller, you can choose to install existing data files from a predefined folder location, Where required, the files are converted to the current version of Trimble Access when they are opened in Trimble Access.

Installed file types might include:

  • Survey styles, job templates
  • Feature code libraries
  • Control files, DXFs, alignments
  • Customized reports/stylesheets

  • Configuring controllers with sample files for demonstration

User in an organization that has multiple controllers

  • Setting up a group of new controllers with 'standard' files used by the organization
  • Configuring existing controllers with files for a specific project

If you have modified any predefined Trimble files and saved them with the original name, then those files are replaced with new versions of the predefined files when you upgrade the software, and any custom changes are lost. In this case, you must manually copy the modified files from the local folder and copy them into the appropriate Trimble Data subfolder after the software upgrade. To avoid this, if you modify a predefined format then make sure you save it with a different name.
