Using Catalyst On Demand with Penmap
If you are consuming 1-hour blocks from a Catalyst On Demand account, you must install the Trimble Mobile Manager app to your Android device and use Trimble Mobile Manager to start the On Demand session. See System requirements.
To avoid consuming minutes from your On Demand 1-hour block before you are ready, create or download the project in Penmap first.
When you are ready to start the GNSS session:
- Start Trimble Mobile Manager on your Android device.
-
Sign in with your Trimble ID. This must be the same Trimble ID you will use to sign in to Penmap.
Once you have signed in, Trimble Mobile Manager checks your account for Catalyst on Demand options.
- Connect your Android device to the Trimble Catalyst DA2 GNSS receiver using Bluetooth, or connect to the Trimble Catalyst DA1 digital antenna using the USB cable.
-
In Trimble Mobile Manager, tap Start in the Home screen to start the On Demand session. A 1 hour license is delivered to your device and starts immediately.
You can check the available minutes remaining at any time using the Android notification service on your device.
- Start Penmap and sign in using the same Trimble ID as you used to sign into Trimble Mobile Manager.
- Open the Penmap project.
- In the map, tap and then select GNSS. Select Trimble Corrections Hub as the Realtime corrections service and make sure the GNSS receiver screen shows Trimble Catalyst DA2 or Trimble Catalyst DA1. See GNSS settings.
-
Return to the map and tap Topo and then tap Start GNSS.
The Catalyst information dialog appears.
- Tap OK to start the Catalyst service on the device and enable Penmap to record GNSS positions with 1 cm accuracy.
