Installing Trimble Sync Manager
The Trimble Sync Manager desktop application is installed with the latest version of Trimble Business Center.
If you do not have Trimble Business Center, you will need to install the Trimble Sync Manager desktop application separately. To download Trimble Sync Manager, click the appropriate link:
Team members must have Trimble Access
Team members can easily work with data in the cloud from within the Trimble Access field software. When connected to the Internet and signed in using their Trimble ID, surveyors can quickly download projects and jobs to the controller. Any linked files, including CSV, DXF, coordinate system and feature manager library files are downloaded with the job and stored in the appropriate folder on the controller. Because the Job properties are all configured in the office, the job is ready to start as soon as it is downloaded. Once fieldwork is underway, data can be easily uploaded to the cloud at any time and reviewed in the office.
If required, team members can also create jobs and projects in Trimble Access and then upload them to the cloud from the controller for use in Trimble Sync Manager.
Consider implementing a standard project or job naming convention and ensure your team is aware of your conventions.
A Trimble Identity (TID or Trimble ID) is your access to cloud based communication and collaboration within Trimble. You can invite others who have a Trimble Identity to a shared project space within the Trimble Connect cloud.
If you do not already have a Trimble Identity, you can create one from the Sign in screen in Trimble Sync Manager or Trimble Access. Select Create a new Trimble ID and follow the instructions.
Create a Trimble Identity for each team member so that you can assign survey jobs to individuals in your team.
A Connect Business for Trimble Access account offers unlimited projects, invites and data storage. It is possible to upgrade your Trimble Identity free of charge for use with Trimble Access under software maintenance agreement. See Upgrading to a Trimble Connect Business subscription license.
The Trimble Sync Manager adds survey‑specific context to Trimble Connect using Connect TODO, system attributes and a Configuration folder to manage the tightly integrated transfer of jobs between the field and office.
The Trimble Sync Manager system configures Trimble Connect projects for the survey workflow. Existing Trimble Connect customers are able to view the information using the interfaces they are accustomed to, however the full benefits of the system are seen when using Trimble Sync Manager and Trimble Access 2021.10 or later. If a Trimble Connect project has not been configured by Trimble Sync Manager, the user receives a message stating Project was not created with Trimble Sync Manager. To resolve this the Trimble Connect project must be accessed using Trimble Sync Manager.
