Creating an offline basemap

You can create a cached version of the map that TerraFlex field users can view if they are working in a remote environment and not able to connect to the internet.

  1. Use the zoom tools at the top of the map workspace to zoom the map so that the entire area you want to include in the offline basemap is in view.
  2. Click the button below the Data list and select Create offline basemap.

  3. Click and drag a rectangle around the area you want to include in the offline basemap.

    The Offline map created successfully pop-up message appears in the map and the offline basemap is added to the Map caches group in the Data list.

  4. To rename the layer, right-click the offline basemap layer and select Rename.

Because the cached map is a snapshot of the map captured at a specific moment in time, you may need to regularly create a new, more up to date offline basemap. To remove an offline basemap you no longer need, right-click the layer name in the Data list and select Remove. To hide an offline basemap layer from the map, click next to the layer name.
