Editing template properties
- To open the Template Editor:
- To create a new template, click below the Data list and then from the Add group, select New Template.
- To edit an existing template, click the Template icon next to the layer name in the Data list.
The Template Editor opens showing the Template tab.
- In the Template name field, enter a name for the new template.
-
To change the Preview fields that are shown when viewing the form in the map, click the drop-down arrow next to a preview field or tap the Image icon and select a different field from the list.
The Preview fields box is empty until you add fields to the form. Once you add fields, the first two fields and the first image field on the form are automatically selected as Preview fields. To change which fields are used, click the arrow next to the field and select a different field.
- From the Geometry Type drop-down list, select whether the template is for a point, line, or area feature.
- From the Geometry Color drop-down list, select the color you want to use to represent the feature in the Map/Satellite view.
-
If required, set a logging rate in the Position averaging Number of positions field:
-
For Point features, set the number of positions that must be logged and averaged.
-
For Line or Area features, set the number of positions that must be logged and averaged for a vertex in the line / area, then do one of the following:
-
enter a Time (in seconds) value to set the logging rate when streaming a line / area to be time-based;
-
enter a Distance (in meters or feet) to set the logging rate when streaming a line / area to be distance-based.
-
If no value is set, TerraFlex logs positions every second; when Trimble Offline GNSS Corrections is enabled, TerraFlex logs 10 positions for every point / vertex.
-
-
Allow digitized positions. To make sure that field workers always capture GNSS positions for a feature they are collecting in the field rather than digitizing the position, you can disable this option.
-
To make sure that field workers always record positions for a feature they are collecting in the field, select the Form geometry must be captured check box.
-
To set an accuracy threshold for the collected positions :
-
Select the Enable Accuracy Based Logging check box
-
Enter the required accuracy threshold.
TerraFlex will only log positions for the feature when the estimated accuracy is less than this value.
-
To allow the required accuracy setting to be overridden by the field worker in TerraFlex, select the Allow override check box.
-
-
In the Logging Behavior group, select one of the options:
-
Log position automatically to start collecting GNSS positions immediately as you start a feature.
-
Log position manually to start a feature, enter attributes, then collect GNSS positions later.
-
-
In the Repeating fields group, select what will happen in TerraFlex when forms that contain repeating fields are created:
-
To repeat the last used values in the next instance of the form without any action from the user, select the Repeat automatically option.
-
To ask the user if the last used values should be repeated, select the Ask for user confirmation option.
Repeating fields are fields for which you have selected the Repeat field check box when you added the field to the form.
-
-
In the Template variants group, select the Enable field update behavior check box to enforce Mandatory and Read-only settings on fields when the form is updated in the TerraFlex software.
TerraFlex users must have a TerraFlex Premium or Standard license to be able to update data in the field.
-
Click Save at any time to save the changes as a draft.
Once you have created the form you cannot change the name of the layer or the color used for features in the layer using the Template editor. To edit those properties, in the Map Viewer click the feature icon next to the layer name in the data list to open the Edit layer dialog. Edit the layer name and select a different color, if required.
