If you have a laser rangefinder you can use it to capture remote features that you are unable to get to. See Capturing remote features.
If you have an external sensor, you can use it to capture data and automatically populate sensor fields. See Using external sensors.
Any existing data will be updated / overridden when the external sensor is fired. If you fire the sensor more than once, the data is overwritten with the new data until you save the form.
If you are using a Trimble R12i, R780, or R980 GNSS receiver with TIP™ technology (Trimble Inertial Platform™ technology), a TIP readiness status is displayed. See Connecting to a Trimble GNSS receiver for more information.
