To capture an image using the controller camera
You can capture an image using the controller's integrated camera from within the Trimble Access software.
Images captured using the controller's integrated camera are typically saved to the Pictures folder. For some devices the location these files are saved to can be changed, but Trimble recommends you save the files to the Pictures folder because the Trimble Access software monitors the Pictures folder and moves images saved to the Pictures folder to the <job name> Files folder. If the files are saved to another location, the software cannot detect the arrival of new files and cannot move them.
If the controller is an Android device, you must open the controller camera application from within the Trimble Access software for Trimble Access to be able to detect when an image is saved to the Pictures folder. If you have already opened the camera application, close it and open it from within Trimble Access.
-
Tap and select Instrument / Camera. The camera application in the controller opens.
- If the screen shows an image of you then the front-facing (selfie) camera is selected. To change to the rear-facing camera, tap the Switch camera icon in the top left.
- To change the camera or image settings, tap the Settings icon and make your changes. For more information, refer to the documentation for your controller.
- Position the controller to capture the required image and then tap the camera button or the OK button on the controller to capture the image.
-
To close the camera, tap the screen and then tap X in the top right.
If you selected the Show with new media file option when you configured the media file settings, the media file screen appears showing a thumbnail of the image. This enables the Link to method to be changed and, if linking by point name, the point name.
If the Show with new media file option was not selected, the image is not shown and is automatically linked to the option you selected in the Media file screen of the job properties.
- Tap Accept.
