To capture a panorama

In a conventional survey, use the Panorama measurement method to capture a panorama image without performing a scan.

1. Tap and select Measure / Panorama.
2. To select the area inside the video window that needs to be captured, select the framing method and then define the frame area. See one of the following:
   • To scan using an SX10 or SX12
   • To scan using a VX or S series instrument

3. If required, select the instrument camera to use.

   The SX10/SX12 Telecamera is available only when the Framing method is set to Rectangle or Polygon. Telecamera panorama images are fixed focus. For best results, the contents of the framed area should all be at a similar distance. Panoramas captured using the Telecamera are limited to a maximum of 1000 images.

4. Configure settings for the panorama image(s). The available settings depend on the connected instrument.

5. If you are working in a dark environment and want to illuminate the target, select Solid from the Target illumination field.

   This field does not appear if you have selected the SX10 Overview camera.

6. Tap Next.

   If you are using the SX10/SX12 Telecamera, or have enabled the Fixed exposure setting, the software prompts you to point the instrument toward the location that defines the camera exposure and/or focal distance that you want used for the image.

   When using the SX10/SX12 Telecamera, make sure the zoom level indicator in the top left of the Video feed shows Telecamera. If the Telecamera cannot focus automatically on the object of interest, tap in the Video toolbar to view the Instrument camera options. Select the Manual focus check box and then tap the arrows to adjust the camera focus.

7. Tap Start.

   During panorama capture, the number of panorama images captured and the percentage of the panorama completed is shown.

8. If required, tap Finish.

Panorama images are saved to the <project>\<job name> Files folder.
