LandXML roads
LandXML road files can contain one or more alignments with associated road definition information.
The Roads software supports LandXML cross section roads and LandXML string roads.
The Roads software supports LandXML roads where the horizontal alignment is defined by elements or points of intersection (PI's). However LandXML files with arcs defined by spiral‑arc‑connectingSpiral‑arc‑spiral are not supported.
LandXML cross section roads
LandXML cross section roads are LandXML roads where the alignment(s) have associated cross sections.
LandXML cross section roads can be exported from various software packages. LandXML cross section roads are stored as RXL files in Trimble Access Roads. The original LandXML file remains in the project folder but is no longer used.
For more information, see LandXML cross section roads.
LandXML string roads
LandXML string roads are LandXML roads where the alignment(s) have associated strings that are defined by break lines, irregular lines, or lines and arcs when exported from various software packages, including Trimble Business Center, Tekla Civil, Trimble Novapoint, Autodesk Civil 3D, and 12d Model.
LandXML string roads are supported in their native LandXML format, unlike LandXML cross section roads, which the Trimble Access Roads software converts to RXL roads before you can use them.
For more information, see LandXML string roads.
