Showing only some items in a BIM model
When viewing a complex BIM model, the items you are most interested in may be contained in more than one layer or file, or each layer may contain many items. Showing or hiding layers in the Map files tab of the Layer manager may not provide enough control over what is shown in the map.
The tools in the BIM toolbar enable you to more easily isolate the items in the BIM model you are most interested in.
The BIM toolbar appears at the top right of the map, alongside the Layer manager, when all of the following are true:
-
The Layer manager is visible and the Map files tab is the active tab in the Layer manager.
If another form is open alongside the map and is obscuring the Layer manager, tap and then in the Return to list at the right of the Favorites panel, tap Layer manager to make the Layer manager the topmost form.
-
There are BIM files (.ifc, .trb, .nwd, or .dwg) listed in the Map files tab.
-
The Transparency setting for BIM models is configured to display Solid or Both, not only Wireframe.
To change this setting, in the map toolbar select and then select Transparency. In the BIM models group box, select Surfaces from the Display drop-down list.
-
Auto update is enabled for the Layer manager.
If a check mark is not shown beside the Auto update softkey, tap the Auto update softkey to enable Auto update mode.
The Show only and Hide buttons on the BIM toolbar are not active (cannot be selected) until you select one or more items in the BIM model from the map.
The Undo and Reset buttons on the BIM toolbar are not active until you perform a Show only and Hide filtering action.
-
From the map select one or more items in the BIM model.
The items you select do not have to be in the same layer or in the same BIM file.
