Measuring and coding observations in one step
To measure and code conventional or GNSS observations in one step, select the feature code you want to measure and store from the Measure codes form. If you are using a feature library file that has groups defined, the groups and the codes within the group are automatically shown in the Measure codes form.
To quickly change the code on a code button, tap and hold the button on the Measure codes form and select a different code. When you save the change the software returns to the Measure codes form.
To edit multiple buttons, create or manage groups of code buttons, or to configure template pickup, use the Edit Measure codes screen. To view the Edit Measure codes screen, tap in the Measure codes form. See To set up code buttons for Measure codes
During a survey, when you tap one of the code buttons in the Measure codes form, the code on that button is added to the Code field at the bottom of the Measure codes form. Alternatively, you can use the numeric keypad on the controller to select the required code button. When using a 3x3 layout, keys 7, 8, 9, activate the top row of buttons, keys 4, 5, 6 activate the middle row of buttons, keys 1, 2, 3 activate the bottom row of buttons. On a 4x3 layout, the 0, . and - keys are used for the additional buttons.
To combine codes from multiple code buttons, tap the Multi-code button and then tap each code button in the Measure codes form to add the code to the Code field.
If you are using control codes to create line, arc, or polygon features from points as you measure them, the fastest and easiest way to do this is to select the appropriate control code from the CAD toolbar.
If a code has attributes, the attribute values appear at the bottom of the Measure codes form. You cannot directly edit these attribute values in the form. To change the attribute values, tap Attrib in the Measure codes form or in the Measure topo or Measure point form. For more information, see To enter attribute values when measuring a point.
Watch the Measuring with Trimble Access playlist on the Trimble Access YouTube channel for an overview of measuring a topo or as-built survey, including using Measure codes to add attribute information and display points and lines in the map using different symbols.
