Favorite screens and functions
Favorites and Functions enable you to create shortcuts to software screens, map controls, or to enable/disable an instrument or receiver function.
To view Favorites, tap . The Favorites list is shown next to the menu. Tap a Favorite in the Favorites list to go straight to that screen or to enable/disable that instrument/receiver function.
The Return to list next to the Favorites list shows previously viewed screens that are still open. Tap an item to return to that screen.
To view Favorites when Trimble Access is running in portrait mode, tap and then select Favorites. The main menu changes to the Favorites menu, showing the Favorites list and the Return to list.
If the controller has a numeric keypad, you can use the keypad to enter the keypad character (1–9, 0, - or .) indicated on the first twelve tiles to enable/disable the Favorite function or open the appropriate screen.
You can add your own items to the Favorites list and/or you can assign them to a function key on the controller. For example, if you assign the DR function to the F3 function key on the controller, during a conventional survey press F3 to enable/disable DR mode when viewing any screen in the software.
If you are using a tablet that has programmable buttons instead of dedicated function keys, such as the Trimble T10 tablet, then you must enable the Use function keys check box in the Select language screen. Use the Button Manager app installed on the T10 to set any of the three programmable buttons on the front of the tablet as function keys. For more information, refer to the Trimble T10 Tablet User Guide. If you are using a third-party tablet, check your tablet documentation for information on supported function keys and whether they are programmable.
Grouping Favorites
You can create groups of favorites and functions and then use the group that matches your workflow. For example you might use one group when using a conventional instrument and another group when using a GNSS receiver. When using groups the function that is enabled when you press F3 for example, depends on whether you are using the conventional instrument or GNSS group of functions.
Tap next to the group name and select the required Auto-switch option to have the software automatically switch to that Favorites group when you start a conventional or GNSS survey. The Auto-switch function works best when you have set up a conventional group and a GNSS group of Favorites. The software will also auto-switch groups when the active instrument changes during an integrated survey.
To add a shortcut to a screen you use often or an instrument function you frequently enable and disable, tap to quickly add it to the Favorites list or assign it to a function key on the controller.
- To add a shortcut to a:
- software screen, navigate to the screen you want to add.

- If you are assigning the item to a function key, tap the appropriate function key in the Select key to assign function to screen. Tap OK.
A yellow star next to the screen name or function name in the Instrument functions or GNSS functions screen indicates this item is a favorite.
A function key name (for example F3) next to the screen name or function name indicates the keypad shortcut for this item.
If you have set up groups of Favorites, shortcuts are always added to the currently selected group. To change the group, tap and select the group from the drop-down list at the top of the Favorites list. You can copy or move shortcuts between groups if required.
