Filtering data by feature layer
Use the Features tab in the Layer manager screen to manage which features are shown in the map
The feature layers shown in the Features tab are defined by the Feature Library FXL file linked to the job. Each feature layer contains a separate layer for each feature code defined for the layer when the Feature Library FXL file was created using the Feature Definition Manager in Trimble Business Center.
Click the arrow next to the layer to view the codes defined for each layer and to show or hide features in the layer.
The 0 layer contains features that are not defined by pre-existing codes in the FXL file. This includes:
-
Features that use codes that are not defined in the FXL file, but were entered manually in the Code field when the point was measured are in the code layers listed in the 0 layer.
-
Features that use only control codes and do not use a feature code are in the Invalid layer in the 0 layer. Use this filter to locate these features and make them valid by entering a feature code.
-
Features that do not use a feature code or a control code are in the Uncoded layer in the 0 layer.
When features use multiple codes, the feature is visible and/or selectable if any of the assigned codes is set to visible or selectable. For example, a point that uses "code1 code2" is selectable if "code2" is set to selectable and "code1" is set to hidden. Control codes are not shown in the Features tab.
To change which coded features are visible
-
To open the Layer manager, do one of the following:
- Tap in the Map toolbar or the Video toolbar.
- In the Job properties screen, tap the Layer manager button.
-
Select the Features tab.
-
Tap a layer to hide it. The check mark inside a square next to the layer name disappears.
-
To make features in a layer visible, tap the layer name. A check mark indicates features in the layer are visible.
-
To make layers selectable, tap the layer name again. A check mark inside a square indicates features in the layer are selectable ("active") in the map.
-
If the feature layer has multiple codes, by default all codes have the same setting as the layer. To make features using only some codes visible or selectable, tap the arrow next to the layer name and then tap each code once to hide it, or twice to make it visible but not selectable. Tap the code again to make it visible and selectable.
The icon next to the layer name indicates if some code are not visible or not selectable .
-
To make all layers and codes selectable, tap the All softkey. To all feature-coded points, tap the None softkey.
-
Tap Accept.
To automatically update the data shown in the Map
Changes made when Auto update is enabled are retained when you exit the Layer manager using either the Accept or Esc key.
