To enter the base station coordinates

For an RTK survey, the base station coordinates must be Global coordinates, that is the coordinates must be in the Global reference datum at the Global reference epoch. The Global reference datum and the Global reference epoch are shown in the Select coordinate system screen of the job properties. See Coordinate system.

For a known point

If you have set up the receiver on a known point:

  1. When starting the survey at the base station, enter the base station name in the Point name field.
  2. Tap Key in.
  3. Set the Method field to Keyed in coordinates.
  4. Check that the coordinate fields are showing the format you expect. If they do not, tap Options and change the Coordinate view setting to the required coordinate type.

    If the known coordinates are:

    • Global coordinates, make sure the coordinate fields are Latitude, Longitude and Height (Global).
    • Grid coordinates (and projection and datum transformation parameters are defined) make sure the coordinate fields are Northing, Easting, Elevation.
    • Local geodetic coordinates (and a datum transformation is defined) make sure the coordinate fields are Latitude, Longitude, and Height (local).
  5. Key in the known coordinates for the base receiver.

For more information, see Base station coordinates.

  6. Tap Store.

For an unknown point

If you have set up the base station on a point for which you do not know the coordinates:

  1. When starting the survey at the base station, enter the base station name in the Point name field.
  2. Tap Key in.

  3. Tap Here.

The current SBAS position (if tracked), or the current autonomous position derived by the GNSS receiver is displayed.

    • If you want an SBAS position, ensure the receiver is tracking an SBAS satellite by checking the SBAS icon is displayed on the status line when you tap Here. The receiver can take 120 seconds to lock on to SBAS. Alternatively, check the Observation class field before starting the base.
    • Within a job, only use an autonomous position (the Here softkey) to start the first base receiver.
  4. Tap Store.
