Map tap and hold functions

Tap and hold in the map area to quickly select a common task. The tasks available depend on the number and type of features selected, and whether the features are in the job or in a linked file.

Key in a point

To key in a point, tap and hold the location for the point in the map and then select Key in point.

The Key in point option is not available from the tap and hold menu if you are viewing the map in 3D and the map does not include a ground plane or surface.

Store a point from the GNSS receiver

To quickly store a point, such as a waypoint, without having to start a survey, tap and hold an empty space in the map and select Store a point.

The software must be connected to an external GNSS receiver or to the controller's internal GPS. See To store the current receiver position.

Offset a line or polyline

You can create a new line or polyline by offsetting an existing line or polyline. See Offsetting a line or polyline.

Create a surface

If the job contains three or more 3D points, you can use those points to create a surface and store it as a triangulated terrain model (TTM) file in the current project folder. You can then use the surface to calculate a volume. See Creating a surface from existing points.
