Maps and models
The Map provides a rich view of all points, lines and polygons in the job, as well as:
-
3D models in linked BIM files
-
points, lines and polygons in linked files
-
data from background maps

You can add data to the map that is not in the job using the Layer manager. Use the Layer manager to:
-
Link point files, map files, (including BIM models), scans and surface inspections to the job.
-
Link background maps from a variety of sources and in various formats.
For more information, see Adding data to the map.

From the map you can add new points, lines, and polygons to the map (and the job) using a variety of software functions:
-
Measure new points, lines, and polygons using position information from the connected GNSS receiver or conventional survey instrument.
-
Key in new points and lines, if needed.
-
Perform measurements and calculations using Cogo functions.
-
Select items in the map and use them in other software functions, for example to perform a Cogo calculation or to create a surface.
For more information, see Adding points and lines in the map.
