Pipeline tally master set

The tally file and its associated files are added to the pipeline in the Pipeline properties screen. These files then become the master set, which are updated with changes from the field in the Merge tally screen. Updates are usually merged at the end of each day, and then a new master set is published, ready for download to the controller at the beginning of the next working day.

The tally file and its associated files are stored in the Trimble Data\Common\Tally folder on the controller.

The pipeline tally master set comprises the following files:

File Type Contains
Tally .csv Joint attribute data, recorded and checked in the field
Manifest .csv Joint attribute data, usually from the pipe manufacturer
Definition .dfn Configured tally options
Master index .idx Unique ID, status flags, and timestamp and position information for each joint
Joint map .map

Joint map records, including timestamp and position information

This file is created the first time a joint map record is added to the pipeline project.

The .idx file may contain any of the following flags:

0 – The joint has not been checked or modified

1 – The joint has been checked

2 – Existing attribute values for the joint have been modified

3 – The joint has been checked and modified

4 – The joint is a PUP

5 – The joint is a PUP and has been checked

6 – The joint is a PUP and has been modified

7 – The joint is a PUP and has been checked and modified

These flag values are used to populate the read-only Checked column in the Joints section of the Pipeline dashboard. Joints with flag values of 1,3,5 or 7 are shown as checked.

Position information in the .idx and .map file is provided as Lat, Long, Height values, then Northing, Easting, Elevation values, followed by the Station value.
