Task-based data maintenance (ToDos)
If you have existing features that need updating, you can create a task to send to the field by selecting the existing features (forms) on the map. In Trimble Connect, tasks are referred to as ToDos.
TerraFlex users must have a TerraFlex Premium or Standard license to be able to perform task-based data maintenance in the field.
-
In your form templates, make sure to set each data field and image field to:
-
Mandatory to ensure information is checked and updated
-
Read-only if the information is unlikely to have changed so that update tasks can be performed easily and quickly in the field.
See Data collection and data update requirements in Adding fields to the template.
-
-
To enforce Mandatory and Read-only settings on fields when the form is updated in the field, select the Enable field update behavior check box in the Template variants group in the Template tab of the Template Editor. See Editing template properties.
- Use the Map Viewer feature selection tools to select the features in the map that you want to include in the ToDo.
- When you have the required feature(s) selected, click ToDos .
- In the ToDo form, give the task a title, and if required, add a description of the required action.
- To assign the ToDo to a particular user, enter the name of that user in the Assigned users field. Leave this field empty to make the ToDo available to all users.
- Click Save.
The new task is listed in the ToDo tab in Trimble Connect, and the task is sent to field workers assigned to the project.
-
In the Map Viewer, click next to the map workspace name at the top of the screen to view the Trimble Connect project folder.
