Job properties

Job properties are configured when a job is created. If required, you can edit the job properties for a job after you have created it, but before work begins on the job in the field.

Only administrators can edit the properties of any job. If you have the user role, you can edit the properties only of jobs that you have created. See To restrict job visibility.

To edit the job properties for a job that has not yet been downloaded to the controller:

  1. Select the job in the Project overview screen. You can only edit job properties before the job is downloaded to the controller.
  2. To save the job to a folder, or to select a different folder, select an existing folder from the Folder location field. Click to move up a folder level. To create a new folder, click and then enter the Folder name and click Create.

For Trimble Access to be able to use the job, the combined length of the project folder name and folder names must not exceed 100 characters. The name of the job is not included in the 100-character limit.

  3. Add or edit the Reference number, Description and Assignees fields as required.
  4. Add or remove Job files as required.
  5. To define or change the job properties, click the appropriate button. Click:
    • Feature library to associate a feature library file with the job. The FXL file must be added to the System files group box in the Reference tab of the Project Properties screen for them to appear in the Feature library list. See Feature library.
    • Units to select the units and formats for numerical values. See Unit settings.
    • Coord. sys. to choose the coordinate system for the job. See Coordinate system settings.
    • Cogo settings to set the coordinate geometry settings for the job. See Cogo settings.
    • Additional settings to set additional settings for the job. See Other job settings.
  6. Click Accept.

To save time when creating jobs, configure the job properties as required and then save the job as a template. When you need to create a similar job, create the job from the template. The Create a job screen opens with the job properties copied from the selected template. You can the job properties as required before you create the job. For more information, see Managing job templates.
